Services & Repairs
What types of windows do you repair?
We repair all common window types including double hung, casement, awning, slider, and bay windows. We handle repairs for cranks, hinges, balances, seals, and complete glass replacement.
Can you fix foggy windows?
Yes. Foggy windows are caused by thermal seal failure. We replace the failed sealed unit to restore clarity and energy efficiency, and it is one of our most common services.
Do you replace just the glass or the entire window?
We specialize in glass replacement and component repairs, which is far more affordable than full window replacement. In most cases we replace just the broken glass, the failed sealed unit, or the worn hardware, and your frame stays put.
What if my window won’t stay open?
That is almost always a broken or worn window balance. We repair and replace balances on double hung windows to restore smooth operation so the sash stays wherever you leave it.
Can you repair broken window cranks?
Absolutely. We replace broken or worn crank operators on casement and awning windows, and most crank repairs are completed in under an hour.
Do you offer energy-efficient glass options?
Yes. We can match the energy rating of your existing windows or upgrade to more efficient glass, which helps with heating and cooling costs.
Pricing & Payment
How much does window repair cost?
Costs vary with the type of repair, window size, and materials needed. We provide free estimates after inspecting your windows, and every quote includes parts, labour, and cleanup with no hidden fees.
Is window repair cheaper than window replacement?
Yes, in most cases window repair is significantly more affordable than full replacement. Repairing glass, seals, balances, or cranks extends the life of your windows at a fraction of the cost.
Do you have any hidden fees?
No. We believe in transparent pricing. Every quote includes parts, labour, and cleanup, and you will know the exact cost before any work begins.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept various payment methods. Please contact us at 705-491-5065 for specific options.
Process & Timeline
How long does a typical repair take?
Most repairs are completed in one to two hours. Simple repairs like crank replacement can be done in under an hour. Glass replacement may take longer if a custom size needs to be ordered.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
Yes, someone should be home during the repair to provide access to the windows and approve the completed work.
What is your repair process?
A thorough inspection to identify all issues, a free no-obligation estimate, professional repair using quality materials, testing and adjustment to confirm proper function, and complete cleanup of the work area.
How long will custom glass take?
Custom or specialty glass may require additional time for ordering and fabrication, usually a few business days. We provide exact timelines once we measure your windows.
Do you clean up after the repair?
Yes, all quotes include complete cleanup. We remove all debris and leave your space clean.
Technical Questions
What causes windows to become foggy?
Thermal seal failure. When the seal between double or triple-pane glass breaks, moisture enters the space between the panes, causing condensation and fogging. It cannot be cleaned; the sealed unit must be replaced.
Why won’t my double hung window stay open?
A double hung window that will not stay open typically has a broken or worn balance system, either a spring or block-and-tackle mechanism. We replace the balances to restore smooth operation.
Can broken window hinges be repaired?
Sometimes hinges can be adjusted and freed up, but worn or bent hinges need replacing. We fit quality replacement hinges measured precisely to the originals for proper fit and function.
Should I repair or replace my old windows?
If the frames are in good condition, repair is usually the best choice. We can replace glass, seals, and hardware to restore function at a fraction of the cost of new windows, and we give you an honest assessment during the inspection.
What is a thermal seal?
The barrier between the panes of glass in a double or triple-pane window. It keeps moisture out and insulating gas in. When it fails, the window fogs up and loses energy efficiency.
